Will algorithms be our doom?

Kristoffer Albris, assistant professor of anthropology at SODAS and vice PI of DISTRACT, gave a talk to Vejle Gymnasium (high school) on the ethics and politics of algorithms, artificial intelligence, machine learning and predictive analytics. The talk was entitled "Will Algorithms Be Our Doom?"

Dissemination to ground schools and high schools is good example of how university research can make a clear contribution to society. This is an area of engagement that the DISTRACT project and SODAS are committed to. In many cases, engaging with younger generation can also yield new and fresh perspectives on emerging and dynamic topics such as data ethics.
